Monday, April 8, 2024 Kansas will be able to see a partial Eclipse.

In Kansas we will be able to see most of the eclipse.

The plan is to meet at the library around 12:30 PM, Bring your own lawn chair and some kind of “Eclipse” themed snack. The library will have some Eclipse glasses available to use during the viewing.

During a partial solar eclipse, the sky darkens and temperatures cool. Birds, insects and other animals might act like it’s night time.
We plan to meet around 12:30, bring a chair and an Eclipse themed snack.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes between the Earth and the sun, blocking the sun’s light on Earth. When the moon obscures some of the sun,
that is called a partial solar eclipse. On April 8, all of the contiguous United States will experience at least a partial eclipse.
