Wednesday, June 20th kids came to the library to decorate Masks and make Tumble Bugs. The masks were pre-cut and made of cardboard. The kids were given buttons, feathers, beads and told to decorate masks any way they wanted. They came up with some creative masks.

Then the kids made tumble bugs. Tumble bugs are made of card stock pre- cut and a marble. The kids glued the bugs together and decorated with stickers.

On Thursday, June 14th kids were invited to the library to make card stock treasure chests. The treasure chests were precut, the kids only needed to fold them and decorate the way they wanted.

On Monday, June 11th at 1:00 Richmond Police Chief Byron Goracke came to the library to give the kids a demonstration on how to collect fingerprints.

The kids were shown different ways that the police can collect fingerprints and them the kids were allowed to help collect a print with help from Officer Goracke. The kids really like this part.

The Richmond Public Library summer reading program has begun. As has been in past years the kick off was done with the annual seed spitting contest. the kids has a blast as usual.

This years winners of the seed spitting contest were Cheyenne Ferris, Richie Akes, Noah Watewitz and Justin Springer.

During the Summer Reading sign up the winner of last years Learning Quest account Drake Weber, was awarded his big check, a books and a card signed by the state treasurer. Drake and his parents were present for the award.…

Summer Reading 2007 @ the Richmond Public Library. This years themes for the summer reading program are “Get A Clue” for the younger kids, YNK “You Never Know” for the teens and “Mysteries Around the World” for the adults. July 19th – Paper Plate mystery Monsters @ 3:00

July 23rd- Harry Potter Crafts 4:30

July 26th – Stained Glass window hangers – 3:00

July 31st- Bi-Folkal kit “Remembering School Days” @ 2:30
