Summer Reading 2020 is over. Covid-19 is still here and some of the kids are not going to be in school this year. 12- kids 5 & under signed up. this group had 19 programs this summer.

20- kids 6-10 signed up. This group has 18 programs this summer.

8- kids 12- 18 signed up. This group had 17 programs this summer.

9- adults signed up. This group has 19 programs this summer.

We made dragons, swords, unicorns, fairies, frog masks, candles, pet rocks, slime, lip gloss, bath salts, aliens candy dots, gnomes, mini weapons of mass destruction and Ice cream in a bag. We guessed invisible movies and what the picture was on Facebook. We did 2 story walks and a minion hunt and a duck hunt. We were busy this summer!

2018 Summer Reading Program

The 2018 Richmond Public Library Summer Reading Program has come to an end. What did we do in July and August?

July 6th the Adults painted rocks

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 9th was National Sugar Cookie Day

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 11th the kids made drum tree and popsicle stick kazoos

 

 

 

 

 

 

We were closed July 12, 13 & 14 for the Richmond Free Fair. The library has a food stand and game booth at the fair as a fundraiser.

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 18th we made Rock N’ Roll Robots for the younger kids and Ice Cream Sundaes for everyone

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 20th was National Fortune Cookie Day, we had fortune cookies and took a quiz

There was also Friday food club on Fridays at Noon [most Fridays]

Lunch with the librarians on Wednesdays at 12:30 [we hope to do this again next year]

Summer Reading 2018

The 2018 summer reading program started on Wednesday, June 6th. We had Grandpa Pokey down for our big kick-off. Kid signed up for Summer Reading and then Grandpa Pokey made them balloon animals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next up was Father’s Day, the kids made gifts for their dads on June 13th. After they were done making their gifts they got to decorate and eat cupcakes for National Cupcake day also on the 13th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

June 20th the younger kids made Rock n’ Roll Worry dolls

 

 

 

 

 

 

The teens made Thumb Piano’s on June 21st

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Adults made their own Rock n’ Roll Worry dolls on June 22nd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

June 27th the younger kids made Egg shakers and Screaming balloons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

June 28th saw the teen’s trying  “Break-Out”, a game where you try to open different types of locks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Friday, June 29th the adults attempted a folded washcloth craft

 

 

 

 

 

 

We had a very busy month. Not to mention the adult food club “Richmond Minions” that also meets every Friday at noon, still going strong!
