Taco Dinner & Raffle
Richmond Public Library is having at Taco Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, May 4th at the Richmond Community Building. The meal will be served from 4:30—8:00 PM.

Don’t want the meal? We have taco burgers, taco salads and enchiladas available too.
The library is also having a raffle. Raffle items will be on display at the library until the May 4th, when they will be taken to the Community Building.
Winners will be drawn during the end of the evening of the Taco Dinner on May 4th.
The baskets in order are: Baby, Chocolate, Cups, Garden scooter, Kids, Liquor, Movie Night, Summer Fun, royals tickets [4 of them], Spa, Summer Fun, Wine and Zombie Apocalypse.
Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 contact the library at 785-835-6163 if you are interested in buying tickets, also library board members will have tickets to sell. …
March 2019
March is over and April has started, what have we been up to at the library?
On March 1st we had Kenzie Weber come down and do a craft with the kids at part of her senior requirement.
St. Patrick’s Day is in March so of course we had a few craft days. Story Time made headbands, March 13th. The kids made Leprechaun hats March 15th.
Spring Break was also this month, so we had to have something for the kids to do.
Wednesday, march 20th the kids decorated visors.

Friday, March 22nd we made Slime! Kids love slime!
Friday March 29th the adults made Suet Feeders. Someone need to feed the birds. Also remember that the Richmond Minion Friday Food club meets every Friday at noon. Bring Food and come and join us!

The library held their annual “Open House” on April 9th during National Library week. Easter is in April this year so we will have Easter crafts for story time on the 17th, kids on the 18th and adults on the 19th. …
February 2019
February is almost over, what has the library been up to?
February has the super bowl, Valentine’s Day and President’s Day, so what did we do?
Our Richmond Minions Friday food club celebrated the super bowl by having everyone bring their idea of super bowl snacks. They were yummy!
Remember any adult can join us for Friday Foods. All you have to do is bring yourself and some food. You might come by and ask the librarian what that weeks theme food might be.
Next up? Valentines Day
The adults made Valentines crafts on Friday, February 8th. They made Minion Valentines.
The kids made their Valentines after school on Wednesday, February 13th.
The made Owls filled with candy and butterflies with lollipops on them.
Last for February was President’s Day, the adults and kids had a quiz to take. The adults had the match the President this his parents.
The kids matched the President to his favorite snack and then we all got to eat some of those snacks. The kids enjoyed this one very much.
Up next at the library? Still food club almost every Friday [unless otherwise notified]. St. Patrick’s Day crafts and March 15th. Decorating visors [3/20/19] and making slime [3/22/19] during Central Heights spring break.

January 2019
What were we up to in January other than those really cold days?
The Richmond Minions Friday Food club is still going strong. They meet almost every Friday at noon. Everyone brings a pot luck dish to go with the current theme. Anyone who wants to join just has to show up with food.
January 20th was Penguin Awareness Day, so on the 18th [since we are closed on Sundays] we made a penguin craft in honor of the day. The kids wrote on their penguins what they would do if they were a penguin.
Kansas birthday is also in January, so we celebrated two different way. First the adults has local artist Mary Hall come and show the adults how to paint sunflowers on January 25th.
The kids celebrated “Kansas Day” with a Kansas quiz and Kansas snacks. They had edible cow patties and haystacks.We always have the teens read the quiz for the kids and then tabulate their answers.

Welcome 2019
Yes we do!
January 2019, its a new year at the library. Do we have and plans for events yet?
January 29 is Kansas birthday so in honor of that we have 2 events planned.
First up on Friday, January 25th @1:00PM, Mary Hall will be here to give the adults a painting class. Mary will show us how to paint sunflowers. This is a sign-up event since the library has limited space. We have a sign-up sheet on the desk at the library. We have set the limit to 12, so if you are interested sign up now!
Second will be Monday, January 28th and this is for the kids. We will be making “haystacks” and “cow pie candy” after school at 4:00 PM. The kids will also take a “Kansas”quiz before they get to make and eat the goodies.
February will bring Valentines Day so we have Valentine Minion crafts for the adults on February 8th at 1:00 PM. The kids will make Valentine crafts after school on Wednesday, February 13th.
February 18th is Presidents Day, [the library will be closed since this is a federal holiday]. On Friday the 15th at 4:00 the kids will have “President” favorite snacks, and play a match the president to his snack game.
March is St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Break. The library will be doing a St. Patrick’s Day craft on Thursday, March 14th after school.
The plan for spring break is to have a “Slime”day on Wednesday, March 21st at 2:00 PM.
Well that’s all we have planned for now. We know there will be some kind of Easter craft in April but have not finalized that one yet.
