The state of Kansas is having its first “One-state-one-book” program for adults this year. The book that was chosen is “The Learning Tree” by Gordon Parks. The program runs from January 29th through April 30th 2007.
Since this library does not own the book we have interlibrary loaned the book a few times and have been passing it around to those who are interested in reading it.
This library does own a copy of the movie and on Tuesday, March 20th the adults in town were invited to the watch the movie. The movie was shown at the United Methodist Church here in Richmond. Those that attended seemed to enjoy the movie. Many thanks to the church for letting us use their room.
