Richmond Public Libraries two librarians were gone on Thursday, September 27th, They were attending the 17th annual NEST [NEKLS Educations System Training]. Each September for the past 5 years Richmond has had someone from the library attend this annual event.
This year the Richmond librarians learned about digital photography for the library, A State Setoff program for delinquent library debts, building a Christian collection, making our own library video, and much more. There was also time set aside for the librarians to just talk to each other. This time is alway invaluable. This is when you can learn from others what worked, what didn’t, what’s happening in their library. Talking face to face is also fun. It’s nice to get to know people.
The Barn in Valley Falls if a beautiful relaxing place to be. When you are having a break you can walk the beautiful grounds or just sit on the deck by the fish pond.
