Summer Reading 2021 July
Well we are in the final stretch of Summer Reading. July 28th is the last day, all reading sheets need to be in no later than July 26th.
We closed for the Fair for 3 days and then right back into summer reading.
Left to do this summer?
July 14th the kids younger doing watercolor animals, the preschool kids have a different craft more age appropriate. The teens will make Pet Magnets on July 15th and adults might try to make those wine glass wind chimes [we didn’t make them on the 2nd]
Next week the preschool kids will make puppets, the younger kids will make yarn dream catchers, the teens will make dream catchers and the adults will make dream catchers.
Remember: All reading sheets need to be turned by no later than Monday, July 26th to be counted!
Wednesday, July 28th is the final day of summer reading. Prizes will be handed out. Everyone will be blobfish slime and ice cream sundaes!…
Change of board meeting and Library Hours for July
The Richmond Public Library regular board meeting has been changed for July. The meeting will be Tuesday, July 6th instead of Thursday, July 8th due to the fair being the 8th, 9th and 10th.
The Library will be CLOSED Monday, July 5th for the Federal Holiday
The library will also be CLOSED July 8th, 9th and 10th for the Fair.
Come see us at the Fair Stand and buy some lunch or dinner to support the library!

Covie-19 Update
The library is now fully back open. The curtain around the desk is gone, the computers are all open, you can browse and pick out your own things.
The only thing we kept is the keyboard are still covered, this is to help keep them clean. There is hand sanitizer at each computer station, and hand sanitize is till placed on the desk and on the table in the other room.
We are doing in-library programing for summer reading, with the option for those who want to do get grab n’ go .
We hope to see everyone back in the library this summer!
Summer Reading 2021
The 2021 Summer reading program will start on Wednesday, June 2nd and run through Wednesday, July 28th. This year we will offer In-Library and Grab n Go crafts. You will be required to sign up for each craft and let us know if you will be In-Library or Grab n Go. The only one that does not require sign up is the Sign up day.
You will receive you summer reading bag, some goodies, and schedule of crafts and for younger kids, your first craft on June 2nd.
Summer Reading is split up into groups: Younger Kids, Teens [ages 12-18] and Adults. Younger kids craft days are on Wednesday at 3:00, Teens are Thursday at 3:00 and adults Friday at 1:00. This craft days are for those who are participating in the 2021 Summer Reading program. Below is a schedule for June, will post July later.
Younger Kids [Under 12]:
June 2nd- Sign up and Garden Spider Frame
June 9th- Bird Face [ Make a bird picture and bring it back we will post in the window for a contest]
June 16th- Cow Catapult and Father’s Day crafts
June 23rd- Tie Dye Face masks [NOT a Grab N Go, In-Library only]
June 30th-Bead Snake craft
Teens[ 12- 18 year olds]:
June 3rd- Sign up and Diving Squid craft
June 10th Cryptid Paintings
July 24th- Tie Dye Masks [NOT a Grab N Go, In-Library only]
Adults:[In Library only for Adult crafts]
June 4th- Sign up
June 11th- Epson Sale Candle holder
