Central Height has it’s first ever Home Coming parade. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 Central Height held a Home Coming parade in Richmond. The turn out for this event was great.

Each High school class had a float, the band marched, grade schoolers marched, cheer leaders road in a truck, the dazzles danced, Richmond Ruitans has a truck, Richmond Public Library had a float. The 4-H kids has a float, Richmond Fire Department and Ottawa Police were also there.

The streets were lined with people there to watch the parade. Once again the turn out was great! After the parade hot dogs and chips were served. A Bonn Fire was lit, coach Tooley and principle Horstick both gave speeches.  Everyone had a great time!!…

What we did in September?

  • by

The end of September was a busy month for the staff and board at the library.  September 17th was our monthly board meeting, and it was a long one. The next day the librarians left for NEST [Northeast System Training] in Valley Falls. The girls returned on Friday, having learned lots of stuff.

The next week we were off again. Wednesday the 24th the director and three library board members when to Lawrence for the State Library of Kansas Road Show. Some wondered if those people were really from the state library. Well yes they were!!

Then on Friday the 24th both librarians went to Lawrence for a workshop on KLOW [Kansas Libraries on the Web]. This is the program we use for our library web site. We now have a new and improved web page, so everyone go and look at the new site!! richmond.mykansaslibrary.org

I loved the books, some other adults loved the books and some teens loved these books.

Everyone wants to go see the movie in November 2008!!
