Wednesday, May 6th the story hour kids made mother’s day flowers. Cut out sunflowers which the kids glued a mother’s day poem to the back of, then we printed pictures of the kids and the put a picture of themselves on the from of the flower. The kids seemed to have fun with these.

Friday & Satruday, May 8th & 9th the library held a Mother’s Day craft day. Kids were invited to make up to three differnt crafts for thier mothers. They made the same flowers  that story hour made, tissue paper, spray paint flowers, or mother’s day pins.

Library staff and volunteers involved with preschool and children’s programming were invited to the annual Communities of Practice event. They brought along their plans, resources, and ideas to share. Those who had surplus craft materials, brought them along to swap for things you can use. All the Richmond librarians went to this event. They showed some of their ideas for this summer and discovered things they had not thought of yet. It was a fun event. The new addition to NEKLS was a Sno-Cone machine! All the librarians will most likely be using it this summer [Richmond will!].…
