More Summer Reading

  • by

The Richmond Public Library Summer Reading Program is still going along pretty fast. The kids have something to do every week, sometimes more than once a week. Since the last post we have had Father’s Day craft [with duct tape], a Twilight party [we only got half way through the movie because a storm hit],

the kids did sand art bottle and we had a guest who had watched real sand art bottle being made, the middle &high school kids did Fortune Telling [they had a blast with this],

Ottawa Music came down and showed us instruments [which the kids were allowed to play with]. That was the end of June. Up next the July stuff, it will be just as busy.

Summer Reading so Far….

Well it’s been a week and our summer reading program is off and running.  So far we have 19 adults, 25 middle & high school and 36- 5th grand and under.

So far we have ‘Spit Seeds’, had a Game Day, Painted Pictures, had a painting class with our local artist Mary Hall, and we gave Henna Tattoos and we painted sun catchers. The kids have been having a blast and the librarians are running around trying to keep everything running smoothly.

But what a summer we have planned. Next up?? Father’s Day crafts June17th & 18th.

There will be no meeting in July, this is when Richmond has the fair.

Next up- Philippines on August 4th.…

Library Flowers

  • by

Each year the library gets flowers donated by the local Modern Woodman of American [MWA] Tiny Tots group.  So happens that some of our story hour kids are also MWA kids, so the kids get to plant the flower boxes.

This year a board member donated different flower boxes, which were repainted and are now displayed in front of the library with the flowers the kids planted in them.
