Wednesday, November 14th was the day the Richmond choose for it’s Kansas Reads to Preschoolers day. We invited local Police Chief Steve Weese to come and read to the kids. Officer Weese read “It’s Time to Call 911” to the kids and then had each of them try to dial it on the key pad on the book. The kids really seemed to enjoy that part.
Next up was the book Do Kangaroos Wear Seat Belts. Since we could not find another local authority person we chose a first time mom at story hour. Jessica had not been in the library since she was a kid. Since she was returning with her daughter we thought it would be nice to have her read the book.
The kids made Kangaroos out of construction paper. And since Thanksgiving is just around the corner we made turkey headbands.
