Story Time Trick-or-Treat
Every October the Story Time kids get to Trick-or-Treat the businesses on Central Street. It’s actually only about one block, but that’s far enough for the little ones.
This year it was Wednesday, October 26th and with some help from the local MWA group the kids not only Trick-or-Treated but they brought treats for the seniors at the nutrition site.
Never really sure who has more fun when we do this, the kids or the people at the businesses? They do let us come back year after year!
Up next at the library? Halloween Craft Day Friday, October 28th @ 3:00…
Painting with Mary Hall
Friday, October 21st local artist Mary Hall was at the library. Mary has been asked if she would be interested in giving an art class to the adults [again], and she said yes. Mary has been her twice before first she showed us how to paint flowers and then barns, this time trees.
Each time we have Mary here it seems the class gets bigger, we told her when she comes back we may have to use the community building since we are so small, she said that would be all right.
We don’t know when she will be back, but we do know that she said she would come back. Maybe in the spring?…
Library ‘s new Windows
The library has recently installed to new double paned picture window in the front of the library. Our local Friends group received a grant to help pay for these window, they also had a fund raiser dinner last month. The new window should help keep the library at least a little warmer.
The windows are in the look really good from the outside, but please excuse the mess on the inside. The trim and paneling on the adult side of the library still need to be done. The work is going slow since Mr. Fix-it is working six days a week and trying to get to us when he is not busy.
Since we are putting new paneling on the walls where the new windows are it is the hope that the library will be able to have some fundraisers to help buy more paneling to finish the rest of the walls.
