Richmond Christmas Festival

The Annual Richmond Christmas Festival will be Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Richmond Community Building.

Plans for this years festival will include a parade. The parade will take place on Central Street at 4:00. Those who wish to be in the parade please be in line no later than 3:30 so we can get the parade arranged.

The tree lighting will take place also on Central Street in the vacant lot across the street from Beacher Grain. The tree will be lit at approximately 5:45.

After the tree lighting everyone is invited to the community building. We will have a small welcome speech, the a prayer. We will start serving dinner at 6:00. The meal this year will be a choice of Turkey soup or Chili.

After the meal SANTA will arrive. All the children will be asked to come and sit around Santa while he reads the Christmas Story. After the story kids will be invited sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they would like for Christmas.

After Santa the winners or the House Lighting contest will be announced. The library will also draw the names for the winners of the library Christmas raffle.

Thanksgiving Craft Day

The library held it’s annual Thanksgiving Craft Day on Monday, November 21st.

Kids were invited to the library to make a 3-D Turkey and a glitter turkey. They were told they could display the turkeys on the family Thanksgiving table is their parent allowed it.

Nationial Game Day @Your Library

National Game Day @ Your Library was Saturday, November 12th. The library was open from noon to two with tables set up for different games. The little kids had Toy Story Yahtzee and The Best Day Ever [new game this year]. One table had Scrabble slam the card game and one table had “Say Anything”.

Kid and adults came to the library and played games. The younger kids played in one room and the teens and adults played in the other. By the end we had all ages playing the game “Say Anything” this seems to be our favorite!
