April 2012
What have the library staff and library board members been up to lately?
First off the library has updated the exciting bathroom. The walls and floor have been redone, shelves and a curtain have been added. The bathroom no longer looks like a cave. Yes we are very excited about it.
Both the director and one other staff member attended the State Library KLA Conference in Wichita in April, they returned and the director took the new knowledge to the library board.
On Tuesday, April 17 the library held it’s annual “Open House’. Everyone who came was showed the new bathroom and the new windows. We had a great turnout for the open house this year, there were 50 people in and out for the event.
Thursday, April 19 was the Annual Spring Assembly for our library system. this event was held at the Holiday Inn, Holidome in Lawrence. two board members and the library director attended this event.

What did we do for Easter this year?
We had our annual Easter party for the Story Time kids on Friday, April 6th. We had this as a joint party with the local Modern Woodman kids, they bring the pizza. The Easter Bunny showed up and we had a Easter Egg hunt in the back yard. This year there was a total of 22 kids for the party.
