The week of October 21st was a busy one at the library. First we had an “Open House” in honor of our Friends group on Tuesday, October 23rd  for National Friends of the Library Week.

     

Next up there were Zombies at the library on October 24th. Yes Zombies. Mystei David of Williamsburg came with her son made our kids into Zombies  and Vampires, some just had war wounds. the kids really seemed to enjoy this and are already saying we need Mysteri to come back next year.

       

Thursday, October 25th the director and a board member went to Emporia to attend KDRS [Kansas Debt Relief Services] workshop.

Friday, October 26that 1:00 Adults came to the library to decorate gourds for Halloween. Then at 3:00 the younger kids came to the library for Halloween craft day.

       

Saturday, October 27th is the Ruritans annual Trunk-or-Treat.…

We have many events planned for the month of October. The library is going to be a busy place around the last two weeks of the month.

First we will be having an “Open House” on Tuesday, October 23rd to celebrate “Friends of Library” week. The open house will run from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. come in have a snack, meet some of the current “Friends” members, find out what they do for the library. Not a Friend? you can join while your here!

Second on Wednesday, October 24th the library will have a visitor, her name is Mysteri Davide and she will be here to help make our teens look like Zombies!. Kids 6th through 12th grade are invited to come and have themselves Zombiefied from 4:00 to 6:00. After your make up is done we will have a Zombie walk down central street.

Third up is Adult Halloween craft day. The adults are invited to come and decorate gourds for Halloween. We hope to see some creative gourds when we are done. Gourds and paint will be provided on Friday, October 26th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Fourth up is the younger kids Halloween craft day. Friday, October 26th at 3:00 the younger kids will be making Witches, 3 Eyed Monsters and Spider ornaments.

Last up will be the Story Time kids. The kids will be doing their annual Trick-or Treating of the Central Street Businesses. The kids will start around 10:45 am…
