Week #2 Summer Reading 2013
We are off and running, kids and adults are reading and attending events at the library. The second week of summer reading brought us Origami planters [with the little kids], ink dot paintings [with the seniors], henna tattoos [with the teens] and a mini maker day.
The little kids planted seeds in origami newspaper planters then took them home to grow and hopefully plant later on.
We went to the Nutrition Site and had the seniors make ink dot paintings, they really enjoyed this craft!
The older kids [with permission slips signed] got Henna Tattoos, we also had a couple of visitors from Goddard Kansas join us to see how it was done. Darlene also showed up to get her yearly tattoo.
For the end of the week we had a Mini Maker Day on Friday, June 14th. This one the adults seemed to really enjoy. We showed eleven different kinds of makers, we showed how four of them worked and then of course we got to eat what was made.

New Awning Over Back Doors
Some of you may know we have had some flooding issues in our back room. We had two wonderful men donated time and supplies and they put an awning over the back doors. This awning will keep the rain from coming in the back.
The men worked for two days and nights but they got it done.
Many, many thanks to Rick Weber and Jake Akes for all their hard work, also Thanks to the Richmond Museum for giving us the tin.
