It’s 2016 What do we have planned so far?
January is Kansas birthday, so on Friday, January 29th the library will be having two events. One for adults and one for kids.
The first will be at 12:00, patrons will be bringing foods that remind them of Kansas. Bring a dish of food that you think reminds you of Kansas or do some research and see what foods they use to eat in the olden days of Kansas. Just bring a dish and join us. Let’s see what everyone brings!
Also on January 29th [Kansas Birthday] the kids will be having popcorn and decorating Sunflower cupcakes after school at 4:00 PM.
February bring the Super Bowl, Presidents Day and Valentine’s Day. So this is what we have planned. Friday, February 5th we are inviting adults to come to the library and bring their favorite [or newly found] Super Bowl snack. It’s Super Bowl 50 let’s celebrate!
Friday, February 12th we will be Celebrating Valentine’s Day with our annual Chocolate day, the will be different kinds of chocolate and things to dip and molds to make. We will also be having a President quiz or puzzle in honor of President’s Day during Chocolate Day [the library is Closed President’s day it’s a Federal Holiday].
That’s all we know for sure right now. We do plan to do something during Spring Break in March and probably and Easter Craft too, no date and time set yet. Maybe their a good Food day in April we can do, just keep checking to see what we’re doing. Also check out our facebook page!…
What’s Happening in December
It’s almost the end of the year, what do we still have planned?
The Richmond Christmas Festival is Saturday, December 12th at the Richmond Community Building. The library is also having it’s annual Christmas raffle at the same time. Tickets are selling now and winners will be announced at the end of the night on December 12th. Santa will arrive around 7:00 PM.
Monday, December 21st we will have a Christmas craft and food day. We will make reindeer ornaments and ornament cake pops at 2:00 PM.
Wednesday, December 30th [during Christmas break] we will have a “Game Day”. We will play board games and have snacks, come and join the fun.
The library will be closed December 24th, 25th & 26th and December 31st, January 1st & 2nd for the Holidays!

Saturday, November 21st is International Games Day@ Your Library. The library will be open from 12:00 – 3:00. We will have board games set up and snacks for the participants. We have decided to turn the computers off for this day.
Thanksgiving Craft day is Monday, November 23rd at 4:00 PM
The Library will be CLOSED Thursday, November 26th, Friday, November 27th and Saturday, November 28th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

October @ the Library
It’s October the month of Halloween, what do we have planned at the library?
Friday, October 23rd we will have and adult craft day at 1:00 PM. We will be making bird feeders from recycled pop bottles.
October 24th the library is having a chili and soup fundraiser dinner at the Richmond Community Building. The meal will be served from 4:30 to 8:00 PM and is a FREE WILL donation. The library is also selling raffle tickets for two raffle baskets. The first is a Halloween basket which includes candy, dvd’s, popcorn and other goodies. The second is a candle basket, it has a scentsy plug-in , party light tea lights and other candle items. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
Wednesday, October 28th the Story Time kids will trick-or-treat the businesses on Central Street starting at 10:30 AM.
Wednesday, October 28th at 4:00 kids are invited to come and decorate Ghosts for Halloween.
Thursday, October 29th TEENS are decorating skulls at 4:00 PM.
Friday, October 30th at 4:00 is Halloween craft day, kids are invited to come and make some Halloween crafts.
DON’T FORGET! The library has HALLOWEEN masks that can be checked out! All you need is a Library Card! You can find the masks under “Costume Masks” in the catalog.
