Covid-19 2020
Due to Covid-19 [coronavirus] the library will be CLOSED starting March 26, 2020. Franklin County has issued a Stay-at-Home order for all non-essential businesses, so the library must close. It is with great sadness that we close the library and hope to be able to open again soon.
You can still use hoopla for FREE. They have books and movies.

Log in with your library card number. [If you don’t have you number you can call today 3/25/20 until 4:00 PM and I will be able to help you.]
You can then use the library hotspot to download your items and then watch, read or listen anywhere once it’s downloaded.

More Changes
Starting Monday, March 23rd. The Library will be closing at 4:00 PM instead of 6:00 PM.
We still have our doors open. You can call if you need books or movies or computer time. We are just closing a little earlier than normal. PLEASE Everyone Stay Healthy and Keep Safe!
The library has not forgotten that is it is Census time!. If you want to file your responses online and do not have internet or a computer you can call the library [785-85-6163] and make an appointment to use the computer and I will help you get it done!

Changes at the Library
Due to everything going around the library is trying to stay open so people can get movies and books. If you are not comfortable coming in or are sick call ahead tell me what you need and I will check it out for you and bring it to the curb.
We have also limited the computers to only 4 people at a time. a space between each person.
The library has also decided to close on Saturday for now.

Flipster: popular magazines to read FOR FREE
Mango Languages: Learn over 70 languages! Includes information about corresponding cultures, and a translation tool.
?Learning Express: Preparation for the ACT, SAT, PSAT, AP, and other school entrance exams. Citizenship exam preparation, preparation for several occupations, including military (ASVAB) and nursing school. Includes video user guides, many resources download as pdfs for offline use.
State Library Card
State Library of Kansas: offers a host of online resources free of charge. In most cases, only a Kansas Library Card is needed to access them.

Libraries are Public Spaces
Remember the Library is a Public space. Everyone is welcome. But PLEASE if you are sick, feel ill, stayed home from school or work, do NOT come to the library. You really don’t want to make others sick to do you?
IF you need a book or movie call ahead ask the librarian to hold it for you to come in quickly to pick up or send someone to come and pick it up for you. Don’t know what you want search https://nextkansas.org and place a hold and the item you want.
Don’t know how to place a hold?
- Log into your account with your username & password. [if you do not have one or don’t know it please call the library and ask for help]
- Search for the title of the item
- Select Place Hold
- Click Confirm Hold
Not comfortable doing this on your own, don’t have internet or just plain need help? Call the library we will help you place a hold on the items you want. You will receive and email when the items are ready for you to pick them up.

Hopefully all of this sickness will go away soon and everything can get back to normal. This year we have Influenza A, Influenza B, Influenza A&B, many other Viruses [don’t know if they even have names] and now Covic-19 [the coronavirus]. We all need to wash our hands, cover our mouths when we cough and stay home when we are ill [when ever possible].
