Fingerprints

On Monday, June 11th at 1:00 Richmond Police Chief Byron Goracke came to the library to give the kids a demonstration on how to collect fingerprints.

The kids were shown different ways that the police can collect fingerprints and them the kids were allowed to help collect a print with help from Officer Goracke. The kids really like this part.

Seed Spitting

The Richmond Public Library summer reading program has begun. As has been in past years the kick off was done with the annual seed spitting contest. the kids has a blast as usual.

This years winners of the seed spitting contest were Cheyenne Ferris, Richie Akes, Noah Watewitz and Justin Springer.

During the Summer Reading sign up the winner of last years Learning Quest account Drake Weber, was awarded his big check, a books and a card signed by the state treasurer. Drake and his parents were present for the award.…

Summer Reading 2007 @ the Richmond Public Library. This years themes for the summer reading program are “Get A Clue” for the younger kids, YNK “You Never Know” for the teens and “Mysteries Around the World” for the adults. May at the Library

On Friday , May 11 kids come to the library to make flowers for Mothers Day. The flowers were made for construction paper, pipe cleaner and the child’s hand print.

Again this year the kids for the Modern Woodmen of America youth group planted flower boxes for the library. The boxes are located on the sidewalk right in front of the library.

There are a couple other businesses on Central street that put out flowers. Patriots Bank across the street and Beachner Grain, which is located right next to the library. The flowers give some pep to the business district.

Library Annual Open House

Tuesday, April 17th was the date of the annual open house. Every April the library holds and open house for the town. Special invitations are sent to the local businesses.

This event gives people a chance to come in and see what’s new in the library. Most of the business people do not come in on a regular basis. But a special invite and free coffee and doughnuts will bring most people in.…
