Week #1 Summer Reading 2010

Well we got through the first full week of summer reading 2010. Seems to be going pretty good so far.

At the end of the first week we have 30 kids, 5th grade & under signed up. there are 26 6th – 12th grade kids [the teens] and 11 adults.

We started off with a balloon toss for the 5th & under kids. There were to toss a balloon into a wading pool that had a small ring inside. the ones who got their balloons inside the ring were the winners. The kids were divided into teams.

Winner were Riley Roll, Lily Roll and Brennen Geiler.

Friday, June 4th we started something new . The teens and adults participated in a digital scavenger hunt. Each team was given a folder of 20 black & white photos and told to around town and find the places.

Monday, June 7th kids were invited to decorate Sea Horses. They were given stickers, crayons and markers.

Easter Bunny

The Easter bunny came to the library on April 2nd. The story hour kids had their annual Easter egg hunt at the library and were visited by the Easter bunny. Most of the kids were excited by him, we did have a few who would not come and talk to him.

Every year we hide baskets and eggs for the kids in the library and and around are small back yard. We always do this event during non library hours.
