National Library week 2023 will be April 23rd – 29th. The library annually has an “Open House” to celebrate National Library Week. This year the open house will be Tuesday, April 25th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM

We will be serving refreshments to all who come in. Come and take a look around. Maybe you haven’t been here in a while, maybe we made some changes. Maybe you just want to come in and visit.

There will be a book to sign when you come in. A giving tree will be on the table if anyone would like to make a donation to the library. Friends of Library memberships will be available if you  would like to join.

Tuesday, April 4th is Library Giving day.
#LibraryGivingDay is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library system. And in turn, that support will go toward the incredible programs, services and materials provided by local libraries all over the country.

Upcoming Craft days

We have several upcoming craft days for all ages.

The kids crafts are mostly at 4:30 [after school] unless otherwise noted. All kids crafts are FREE

February 22nd the kids will make foam slime

March 2nd for Dr. Seuss birthday the kids will make an edible Lorax

March 15th [spring break] the kids will make an edible flower for Vanilla zingers, strawberry donuts and a ding dong this will be at 2:00 since the kids are not in school]

March 16th [spring break] the kids will make and fly paper airplanes. [this will be at 2:00 since the kids are not in school]

March 17th [Spring break] the kids will make an edible St. Patrick’s day craft this will be at 3:00 since the kids are not in school]

The adult craft club will be going to the first and third Friday starting in March, they meet at 1:00 PM on Friday. There is a small fee for most adult crafts

February 17th they will make yarn hearts $1.00

February 24th they will make suet bird feeders$1.00

March 3rd they will paint garden stakes $1.00

March 17th the will make a St. Patrick’s Day gnome $2.00

The library has programing year round for all ages. We try to plan something for everyone. We have story time for the little ones [Wednesday @ 10 AM] Craft Club for the adults [Friday @ 1PM]. Crafts on most holidays for the kids, and any time we find something for them to make. Summer reading for everyone.
We have 6 computers for public use and 1 laptop for adult use. We offer fax and printing for a small fee.

We are a Fine Free library. We do not charge late fees. Patrons are only charged if they damage or lose library items.

At the end of 2022 the library owned;
2065 DVD’s and TV shows
17 Audio books
8,869 books [regular print and large print]
This library also had Halloween Masks that can be checked out. No other library has that.

Hoopla is also Free with a Library Card

Keep an eye on the library Facebook page for up and coming events.

The library was able to receive a grant this year, this helped replace one of the older computer.

We were able to have a few fundraisers this year, they did pretty good also, they help keep the library doors open.

2023 we plan on looking and filing for more grants.
