Saturday, October 30th, 3 library board members, 1 friend of the library and 1 library director took a field trip.
This group went to Atchison Kansas billed as “the Most Haunted Town in Kansas’. So what did this group do in Atchison?
Well first we visited the library of course!
After the library we drove around the town. We drove through Jackson park. This is a beautiful park with lots of winding roads. It is of course the site of a haunting too. Molly’s Hollow, where it is said a girl hung herself and her screams can be heard on a full moon at midnight, truth or fiction? it is for you to decide.
After our trip to the park, of course we went to the most famous haunted house of all The Sallie House. Is it really haunted? That too is for each person to decide.
Did we see anything? hear anything? or feel anything? We’ll never tell!
Next up was St. Benedict’s Abbey. A beautiful structure, in truth we were looking for peanut brittle, but alas it was not found.
And last but not least, we took the Haunted Tour! We road on the Haunted Coach for a tour of Atchisons haunted housed. We were also treated some beautiful architecture. There are some really beautiful house in Atchison, but is it haunted? Once again that is for you to find out!
More pictures of the Atchison trip can be found on the libraries facebook page.
