Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading is almost over. We have made dino plates, origami birds, inflatable paper cubes, built a yeti, made a dragon eye magnet, made plastic bottle camp lights. straw rockets, penny bombs and more. The adults made some crafts too.

We had snakes in the library. cupcake wars and all the kids made Father’s day crafts. Kids were given library tic-tac-toes and printable scavenger hunt pages.

Summer reading will end on Wednesday, July 31st with our end of summer reading party. Prizes will be handed out, pop corn will be made, treads and drinks for everyone, this will all start at 2:00 PM

All books must be turned in no later than July 29th to be counted. So please remember to turn your books in on time.…

Library Closed For Fair

The Richmond Public Library will be Closed July 11th, 12th & 13th , Thursday, Friday & Saturday for the Richmond Fair.

The library has been closed during our local fair for many years, over 30 years that I know of and I am sure many more than that.

The library staff can be found at the Fair Ground working the food stand. This is a fundraiser for the library so come by and support the library

Come see us at the stand, the only place in town you can get a suicide hot dog or suicide hamburger!…

2024 Summer Reading Program [June]

The 2024 summer reading program is off and running. The kids can take their picture as a shark or astronaut this summer.  The have built a yeti, made origami birds, dragon puppets, hatching dinosaurs and made camp lights from plastic bottles.

Since we have the new room the kids can got through the dungeon [small hallway between the rooms] to get to the craft tables.

The have been offered tic-tac- toe, and a  printable scavenger hunt for extra prizes.

The adults don’t have as many craft days but they do have some.

We had bunny rabbits in May and Snakes in June

Sisters In Crime Grant

SISTERS IN CRIME LOVES RICHMOND PUBLIC LIBRARY!

Local Library Awarded $500 Grant

Richmond, Kansas–May 22, 2024– Sisters in Crime is pleased to announce that
Richmond Public Library in Richmond, Kansas has been awarded the organization’s We Love Libraries $500 grant to use for library programs or to buy library materials for its collection.
Sisters in Crime is dedicated to promoting the ongoing advancement, recognition and
professional development of women crime writers. Members are authors, readers, publishers,
agents, booksellers and librarians bound by a passion for the mystery genre. Libraries in the
United States, including commonwealths and territories, can enter the group’s monthly We Love
Libraries lottery by submitting an entry form and a photo of one or more staff members with
three books by Sisters in Crime authors.

Crime’s Location chapter. (Example: “Local libraries like Riverside Public Library are the

Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading will begin on Wednesday, May 29 at 2:00 this year.

This will be the day to sign up , pick up bags and get your schedule for all the summer events.

We will have some games and snacks for all those who addend.

We have [4] four different age groups this summer.

5 & under  [the little kids] you can be a little older especially if your coming with a sibling. 6 to 11 year olds [the older kids], Teens [ 11 to 18 year olds [ we added 11 & 12 year olds last year since we do not have very many teens participating] and adults.
